The Biggest BMX and MTB Events for 2019

Biking is an extremely popular sport, whether you watching as a spectator or participating in the events, there’s always excited to be found when it comes to BMX and MTB. Therefore, we decided to include the most popular two-wheel events that will occur in 2019, many of which will also be streamed live on several sporting channels.

Simple Session 2019

The simple session provides the best street and indoor BMX park contest in the world which takes place in Tallinn, Estonia every single year. The riders will need to dress quite warmly in early February as it’s in the middle of winter in Estonia. The event will take place on 2 and 3 February 2019 and will feature separate contests for Street and Park competitors.

Yukon Arctic Ultra

Canada’s coldest winter brings out the most unbelievable humans who are willing to cycle extremely long distances along dog sledging trails in the snow. The Yukon Arctic Ultra is considered one of the coldest and toughest bike races in the world. Competitors can choose to participate in either 430 miles, 300 miles, or 100 miles in temperatures that can drop to around -50C. The 430-mile race will be a test of endurance stretching over 13 days. The event takes place from 3 February to 16 February 2019 at Whitehorse, Canada.

Crankworx Rotorua

The season for freeride and racing arrives in the southern hemisphere with the sensational Crankworx festival. You will find a huge name slopestyle comp, an Enduro World Series, and a wide variety of gravity races to ensure you are constantly entertained. The Crankworx Rotorua is the place where you can get a glimpse at what the season will look like in terms of new bikes and teams for the UCI World Cup season. The event will occur from 19 March 2019 to 24 March 2019 in New Zealand.

Cape Epic

The Cape Epic attracts amateurs and professionals alike, where you will see the world’s best in cross-country mountain biking. The MTB stage-race, consisting of 700km, goes deep into the remote interior of South Africa and across terrain that constantly changes. Riders will compete in groups of two and the team with the best time after seven stages will be declared the winners. The event will take place from 17 March to 24 March 2019 in Cape Town, South Africa.

UCI MTB World Cup

The 2019 season of the UCI MTB World Cup will take place in France with a remarkable downhill-only round that occurs in Lourdes during the month of April which is then followed by a round of cross-country-only during the month of May in the Czech Republic. This is undoubtedly one of the best two-wheel events that manage to travel to 9 different countries in 2019. The first event will take place in Maribor. Slovenia from 27-28 April and will end in Snowshoe in the United States on 7/8 September 2019. Other locations in this event include Germany, France, Switzerland, Andorra, and Canada.
